Dear Neighbors
, You know me as a neighbor and artist, and to my knowledge, you are aware that I have a sensitive and vulnerable soul.
I have the following two requests:
1. a) May I politely ask you to stop the voices you are generating in my apartment using high-frequency technology? I would be very grateful for this. I do not want to be subjected to voices when I am working in the attic. This problem existed even before you moved in, when your predecessors lived here. Presumably, you belong to an organization that is particularly interested in the private affairs of people with special abilities or who are otherwise highly gifted. I don’t know for sure; I can only speculate.
1. b) I have never consented to such “experiments,” therefore, in my opinion, you are committing a crime.
1. c) Once again, I politely request that you cease this practice. As I have said, I would be very grateful if you would finally respect my privacy from now on.
1. d) I offer my sophisticated perceptual abilities to recognized science and research, which may wish to launch a project with me in the future.
1. e) I repeat myself: Your organization, or whoever you may be, has never asked me for this, and I have never consented to it. I wonder why you never asked me, firstly because I don’t bite, and secondly because both you and I are proficient in the German language.
1. f) For your information: Article 12 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, for example, states the following:
“No one shall be subjected to arbitrary interference with his or her privacy, family, home or correspondence, nor to attacks upon his or her honor or reputation. Everyone is entitled to
the protection of the law against such interference or attacks.”
I hope you are aware of this, if you have anything to do with it. Unfortunately, I cannot (yet) prove it.
2. a) If you have another occasion that lasts late into the night, and your guest then speaks negatively towards me and even laughs at me, I will file a police report next time.
You understand, I have nothing against you celebrating extensively, having a good time together, and even if it sometimes goes late into the night, but please ensure that you and your guest do not speak to me in a vulgar, mean, or malicious manner. As you and I both know, the attic was unfortunately built with very poor sound insulation. Conversations from the neighboring apartment are clearly audible, especially when you are on the balcony.
2. b) I don’t expect a personal reaction from you. Simply ensure that this psychological strain caused by the voices ceases a priori. Firstly, there are people who cannot tolerate your style of verbal communication, and secondly, they can become mentally ill (triggering a psychosis) or even exhibit visible behavioral disturbances as a result. And if your visitor intends to speak ill of me, please do so not in the attic, but perhaps in your kitchen-living room, where I hopefully won’t be able to hear.
2. c) Here is a second piece of information: I will, in the distant future, make my empirical findings and experiences in the field of depth psychology and in research on mental illnesses accessible to everyone through a book or a scientific paper. Therefore, you will surely understand why I don’t comprehend your or your organization’s excessive curiosity about me.
My question to you is, what do you want from me?
Thank you in advance for your understanding.
I still hope for a pleasant living environment.
Kind regards,
your neighbor Beat Canonica
